The Embassy of the State of Qatar participated in the International Children’s Day which is organized annually in Budapest during the last weekend of May.

 The event was held under the patronage of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary. The Embassy of the State of Qatar took part at the event with a national tent. This occasion is considered a prestigious social and cultural event which is attended by tens of thousands of children and their parents. The visitors attend this Day to get to know the participating countries better. In addition to the Embassies accredited to Hungary other participants are different children’s associations, charity organizations, banks, etc. The Embassies usually offer their national foods, gifts so visitors can get an insight into their cultures.

A great number of children along with their parents had visited the Qatari tent, where the Ambassador of the State of Qatar and his spouse had welcomed them. The visitors had received gifts and had the chance to taste national Qatari food. There was a variety of recreational competitions, as well as brochures and publications introducing the State of Qatar had been distributed.

H.E. Mr. László Kövér, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary had also visited the Qatari tent where he had been greeted by the Ambassador of the State of Qatar. H.E. Mr. Kövér had praised the participation of the Embassy of the State of Qatar, who partakes every year on this occasion. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar had handed over to H.E. Mr. Kövér a commemorative gift from Qatari heritage.
