The State of Qatar participates in the World Export Development Forum – 2017 in Budapest

The 17th World Trade Development Forum2017 was held in Budapest on 25-26 October 2017 under the theme: "Trade – A Force for Good: Include, Innovate and Integrate", organized by the International Trade Center (ITC) of the World Trade Organization and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Qatar was represented by a delegation led by HE Abdul-Aziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Development Bank. It is worth to be mentioned that Doha hosted the Forum in October 2015.


Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Education and Research

On the sidelines of the second session of the Joint Qatari-Hungarian Economic Commission, a Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Cooperation in the Field of Education and Research between Qatar University and the Hungarian National Agricultural Research and Innovation Center was signed in Doha on 26 September 2017. The Memorandum was signed by Dr. Mariam Al-Ali Alma’deed, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies of Qatar University and by Dr. Ferenc Olasz, Director of the National Agricultural Research and Innovation Center. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the State of Qatar and the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. The aim of this Memorandum is to develop long-term cooperative activities between the two sides. Activities will include, for examples, cooperation in the exchange of information on teaching and research activities, promotion of joint research projects and courses, focusing on internationally funded projects, in addition to holding seminars, workshops and cultural exchange through mutual assistance in the fields of education and research, sharing new techniques and new methods of management through programs, and seeking for funding opportunities for joint activities that provide mutual benefits for educational institutions, research and awareness programs.


Foreign Ministry's Secretary-General Meets Official from Hungary

Doha / 26 September 2017/ HE Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan al Hammadi met with HE Dr. Csaba Balogh, Hungarian Minister of State for Public Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.


Joint Qatari - Hungarian Economic Committee Held its Second Meeting in Doha

The Second Session of the "Joint Qatari-Hungarian Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Economy, Business and Technology" was held in Doha on 25-26 September 2017. The Qatari side was chaired by HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Trade, and the Hungarian side was chaired by HE Mr. Chaba Balogh, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation in various fields such economic, trade, investment , banks, small and medium enterprises, agriculture, transportation, health, education, science, technology and culture. The two sides agreed to take the necessary steps to promote and develop economic relations with a view to increasing the volume of trade exchange between them and facilitating the flow of goods, services and investments between the two countries. At the conclusion of the second session of the Hungarian-Hungarian Joint Economic Committee the Co-Chairmen signed the minutes of the meeting.


Ambassador meets with MENA’s director

His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with HE Mr. Andras Kovacs, Director of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, today in his office at the Ministry. The meeting dealt with the existing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries as well as the latest developments of mutual interest in the regional and international arena.





Honoring the Embassy’s Diplomatic Attaché

His Excellency Ambassador Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa held a luncheon in honor of Mr. Hamad Mejeb Al-Dosari, Diplomatic Attaché of the Embassy, who completed his duties in Budapest and then left for Doha. The Ambassador presented a commemorative shield to Mr. Al-Dosari and praised his professionalism and activity during his four-year term. For his part, the Diplomatic Attaché thanked the Ambassador for this gesture and highly appreciated the spirit of cooperation and fraternity that prevailed over the past years.
